A Family Business

We are the Cattanach family, Stu, Sophie and the three boys. Between football training, dog walks with Buddy and adventures on the island we manufacture all the Isle of Mull Soap Co products at our factory up the road and sell it in our beautiful shop in Tobermory.

Our Location


Home is the Isle of Mull, part of the inner Hebrides on the West Coast of Scotland. We are very lucky to be located in the most beautiful spot, in the middle of Tobermory's colourful Main Street.

Our Season

  • The island is beautiful in all seasons but our main tourist season is Easter to mid October.
  • We close in January for winter maintenance

Opening Hours

  • We're open 7 days a week all summer.

  • In the winter we operate reduced hours and close on Sundays. 

Our Soap Factory



Stu is chief Mull Soap and Smellies manufacturer. He often starts very early in the morning, especially in the summer, to keep the web sales fulfilled and the shelves well stocked in the shop.

Web Orders

The majority of our online orders are sent the very next day and go via Royal Mail's 48hr tracked service. We post great smelling parcels worldwide with Royal Mail's Global Priority Service.


Larger parcels and wholesale orders are sent with Parcelforce.


Each morning we take all your orders to the Post Office here in Tobermory, and then they head off the island on the lunchtime ferry.


Sending a Gift?


We can send it direct to their door. We include a little note on a postcard in every parcel we send out. Please drop us an email, or let us know in the box at checkout if you'd like a personal message...
