Gold at Scottish Design Awards

Delighted to announce that Mull Soap Co won Gold in the Packaging Category at the recent 2025 Scottish Design Awards. 

We were up against some swanky Gin & Whisky bottles in our category but we were hopeful and just had a gut feeling. Our genius designer, Ewan, got suited and booted and went along, and well this photo says it all!!!

The Scottish Design Award Ceremony is an annual event held at a hotel in central Glasgow. There's a Gala Dinner and a real party vibe. He sent us these photos on the night to let us know the good news. We were all jumping up and down in the living room - so cool seeing our images up on the BIG screen and we were sooooo proud.

This is the summary Ewan shared about us....

Isle Of Mull Soap Co. is run by local couple Stu & Sophie and has been producing handmade cosmetics in Tobermory since 2008. The shop sits directly in the middle of Tobermory's famous colourful Main Street. Its location was the primary inspiration after they approached us for a rebrand. The old packaging used colourful floral patterns but had no link to the location or sense of place.

We wanted each product to hold a sense of its origin. Tobermory, where the brand is based, became a massive influence on the packaging rebrand, with the coloured houses and vibrant atmosphere. Illustrating over 100 locations and details found around the beautiful Isle of Mull. Abstracting the shapes and simplifying the colours into bold packaging statements. Each illustration is also part of a range of postcards for visitors to send or to be placed in order boxes and gift bags.

This illustration system was continued for all the packaging designs like candles, diffuser & wax melts, lip balms and bath salts.
