Natural Insect Repellent

Use this handmade soap all over the body, a camping essential to protect all the family.  It is a great alternative for a safe yet effective insect repellent to chemical sprays such as deet. Our special combination of natural essential oils, butters and base oils create a much kinder and safer alternative for your skin. Protect yourself from midge bites, whilst also cleansing and moisturising too! We also add lots of cocoa and shea butters into this soap recipe, to keep your skin lovely and smooth and silky soft.

Midge Season in Scotland 

The midge fly lives underground in the soil in the winter. Reappearing in May time right through until September. But don't let this deter you from coming on holiday to Mull in the summer. Citronella Essential Oil Benefits

Citronella Oil is extracted from two types of grass which are part of the lemongrass family. Aswell as being a natural insect and bug repellent citronella oil also has a soothing and calming effect on the skin and can help reduce redness and irritation. It's scent is citrussy, grassy yet slightly floral. Combined with Lavender essential oil in our special blend creates a pleasant medicinal smell to us - not so pleasant to insects. Use this soap to keep the midge's off your back.
