Lavender

Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Oil

Used for centuries to aid sleep, relaxation and to calm stress, lavender leaves and flowers are distilled to extract their essential oil. The oil has a herbaceous, floral fresh scent. Over the years we have mostly used ‘English Lavender oil’ (which is grown in France),  but recently we’ve been looking into using the oil of a hybrid plant called Lavandin (A cross between true lavender and spike lavender). Lavandin was first developed in the 20’s, specifically bred to produce more flowers, woodier stems and a stronger scent making it ideal for perfumes and soaps etc. If we do make the switch, we will let you know. ;-). But for now were still using the English Lavender variety.
